Hello and welcome!
I am thrilled to bring my handwriting blog to you and on "National Handwriting Day" too! A little bit about me before I share the joys of handwriting with you. So here I am minding my own business, getting folks hired, keeping my HR hat on, reading Agatha Christies and people everywhere kept remarking what wonderful handwriting I have. I ignored it for a few years, until one day I realized, I'm not sure why I have 4 of the same pens and at least 5 'pretty' notebooks and various sticky notes because they were 'colors I didn't have'. So, I started to write with all my pens on all my papers and took pictures - for my Instagram feed of course. Then the 'hearts' and 'likes' started pouring and I thought...I might be on to something! Then I had a wild idea. What if...I put some of my work on a freelancing website? And so, I did. I created some gigs on Fiverr and to my surprise, someone took a chance on me! The end result? A FRENCH RULED NOTEPAD WITH CURSIVE TEMPLATES FROM YOURS TRULY! on Amazon. I am just getting started, but I see a lot of potential in the world of handwriting. This brings me to..."National Handwriting Day". I will confess, I did not pay attention to this day until recently. I was more focused on "National Cat Day", "World Nutella Day" and "National Multiple Personality Day". Handwriting is a good exercise to engage in time to time. I find that it forces me to organize how my words are going to fit on a finite piece of paper. It is also an intentional act. Then, of course, it's the flow of different ink types on papers that offer their own grade of friction. I don't know about you, but there's something about the smell of fresh stationary that gets me going. Why do I think handwriting is going to make it big?
So how can you celebrate "National Handwriting Day"? (Note - you do not have to have perfect handwriting to celebrate this day - just write!)
Side Note: In case you are wondering, what's next on this blog? One word - lots. Specifically, little projects that I'm working on, my tips on how to chisel your handwriting, beautiful handwriting around the internet, pens and stationary I am currently obsessing over and CATS. Lots and lots of CATS. And Harry Potter.
